Princess Eugenie's Royal Wedding

I NEVER, NEVER spent such an evening!!! MY DEAREST DEAREST DEAR Albert ... his excessive love & affection gave me feelings of heavenly love & happiness I never could have hoped to have felt before! He clasped me in his arms, & we kissed each other again & again! His beauty, his sweetness & gentleness—really how can I ever be thankful enough to have such a Husband! ... to be called by names of tenderness, I have never yet heard used to me before—was bliss beyond belief! Oh! This was the happiest day of my life! Queen Victoria

When Queen Victoria and Prince Albert of Saxe- Coburg and Gotha ( know in history as Prince Consort) celebrated their wedding on 10 February 1840 in London, George Hayter painted ‘Marriage of Victoria and Albert’ and almost two century later, we are still in awe…

Princess Eugenie’s Royal Wedding is cause for royal celebrations today at Windsor Castle, and indeed in my heart. Each Royal Wedding is not just an historic event but a fabulous excuse to celebrate life and possibilities, and help the British economy. Made me sad hearing people around me people questioning the bill for security and all the trivia that comes with it. I am thinking about the emotional connection we all have with the wedding dress, all the speculation about who designed it this time round, the flowers extravaganza and all the little princes and princesses we have at home. The most courageous little ones, adventured themselves and are waiting outside Windsor Castle since 6 am, in the hope to catch of glimpse at the Royal bride who is expected to arrive in Phantom 6, any moment now…How many of us could dream today that one day our own child could have a wedding inspired by today’s beautiful ceremony? I do!

How many of us think that, actually, a wedding with 850 guests is too much pressure for a young couple but they went ahead just to inspire us?

What a fairy-tale today is! I am raising a glass for the happy Royal Couple and I hope you wish them well with gratitude!
